Situated in the beautiful village of Glasson close to Lough Ree and it’s
waterside woodland walks, boating, fishing (see photographs) and the
highly acclaimed Glasson Golf course, this 200 year old listed building
is packed with charm and character. Previously an Old R I C barracks
and later occupied by An Garda until it’s conversion by Michael in 1986,
the building retains original fireplaces and window shutters, which add
character to the interior.
The restaurant being just over an hours drive to the east coast and less
than an hour to the west coast, has a great selection of fresh seafood and
offers daily specials. It is proud to have achieved B. I. M. Seafood Circle
membership year after year. As well as fresh seafood, Michael also sources
the best quality meats, vegetables, game when in season, local Irish
Hereford beef and other local produce, when possible.
An award winning restaurant listed in all major guides.
“His cooking has long set the standard for the area”-Georgina Campbell.
“Glasson Village Restaurant, after 25 years of business is a trailblazer of
culinary excellence in the area and over the years they’ve also created
a fantastic menu, supplied by fresh local produce and deftly sculpted
into traditional combinations”. - Saturday Guardian.
